Who we are
This website belongs to Hub Motor Service. Our legal name is Siemens Garage Ltd. We're at 33839 Essendene Avenue, Abbotsford, BC V2S 2H3.
We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act. It sets the rules for how businesses collect, use and share personal information. Personal information is anything about a person who can be identified, like a name, a phone number or a licence plate.
What this website collects
You can use this website without telling us who you are. There are no forms, no accounts and no sign-ups.
To book or to ask us something, you call or email us. We get what you choose to tell us. That's usually your name, phone number, email address and details about your vehicle. We use it to answer you, book your vehicle in and do the work you ask for.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Our web host
Cloudflare hosts this website. To deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare handles your device's IP address and basic details about each visit, like the page you asked for, the time and your browser type. Cloudflare is a US company. It may handle this information in the United States and other countries.
Visitor statistics
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It doesn't use cookies, and it doesn't follow you to other websites. It tells us things like how many people looked at a page, which site sent them and what kind of device they used. It doesn't tell us who you are.
We also use Google Analytics to see how people use this site, like which pages they visit and whether they tap one of our phone numbers. Google Analytics uses cookies to recognize a browser that comes back. It doesn't store your IP address. Google keeps this information, mostly in the United States. We have turned off Google's advertising features. Google Analytics keeps the detailed visit data for 2 months, the shortest setting it offers.
You can say no. Press “Turn off Google Analytics” here or at the bottom of any page, and this site stops using it in your browser. The site works the same either way.
Your choice is saved in this browser only. To say no on every website, use Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or block cookies in your browser settings. Google explains how it uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Cookies
The only cookies this website sets come from Google Analytics (see Visitor statistics above). If Cloudflare's security checks are switched on, Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie to tell people apart from automated traffic. It isn't used to track you.
Maps
Most pages on this site have a map of the shop, including our Contact page. The map is our own. It's drawn in your browser from map files stored on this website, made from OpenStreetMap data. Showing it doesn't send anything to Google or any other map company. Like the rest of the site, it comes to you through Cloudflare, our web host. The “Open in Google Maps” and “Directions” links go to Google Maps (see below).
Links to other websites
Some links on this site go to Google Maps, to our Google reviews and to our Facebook page. Once you follow one, you're on that company's website, and its own privacy policy applies.
Apart from what this page describes, this website doesn't load anything from other companies. Our fonts, photos and map come from our own site.
When you bring your vehicle in
To do the work, we keep your name, phone number, address, vehicle details, licence plate, VIN, odometer reading and a record of the work.
We don't share your information with suppliers or anyone else, unless the law requires it.
If we do a provincial vehicle inspection, we send the inspection report to the Province of BC through its Vehicle Safety BC system, as the inspection program requires.
We keep invoices and work records for seven years. Then we destroy them securely.
We keep your information safe. Paper records stay in the shop office. Computer records are password protected. Only our staff can see them.
Seeing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we have about you. You can also ask us to correct it if it's wrong. Please ask in writing, by email or letter. We may ask you to show us who you are. We'll answer within 30 business days.
You can ask us to stop using your information for anything we don't need to service your vehicle. If that changes what we can do for you, we'll tell you.
We don't charge for this.
